What We Believe

In The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the inspired (God breathed) word of God written by men as given inspiration from the Holy Spirit. This word is eternal and unchanging. It is true in its purest and natural form, and directly communicated from God.

Of The One True God

We believe that there is one and only one true God, infinite,   endless in mercy and grace, maker of the heavens and the earth. Existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Equal in perfection and executing distinct functions, but working together in the great work of redemption.

In The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a person, equal with God the Father,  and God the Son and of the same nature; that He actively restrains the evil forces in the world today, until God's purpose has been fulfilled. He convicts the world of sin, of judgement, and living holy before God. He bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony.

Of Satan

Satan was once highly anointed (known as Lucifer) and took an active part in the worship of God in the Heavens, but became filled with pride and ambition to be worshipped like God. He was cast out of heaven and became god of this world. He is man's greatest tempter, the enemy of God and His church, the accuser of the saints of God, the author of false religions, the lord of the Antichrist, and prince of all powers of darkness, destined to a final defeat by the Lord Jesus Christ and cast into the lake of fire for all eternity.

IN CREATION

We believe in the Genesis account of the creation,  and that it is to be accepted literally. We were created in the image of God and our spirit is destined to live for all eternity.

Of The Fall Of Man

We believe that man was created in innocence under the law of his Maker, but by willful disobedience fell from his sinless state, and as a result all mankind are under the curse of sin, and are therefore under just condemnation without defense or excuse.

Of The Virgin Birth

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Ghost, in a miraculous manner; born of Mary, a virgin, as no other was ever born. Jesus is both the Son of God and God the Son.

Of The Atonement Of Sin

We believe that salvation is by grace and there is nothing that we can do to earn our salvation. It is the gift of God. Jesus Christ took our sin upon Him at the cross and by His death made atonement for the sins of all mankind.

Of Grace In The New Creation

We believe in order to be saved you must be born again. The new birth comes from accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Believing Jesus took our sins upon His back at Calvary. If we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus Christ died for our sins we shall be saved.

Of Justification

We believe that the great gospel blessing which Christ secures to those who believe in Him is justification; that includes the pardon of sin, and the gift of eternal life on the principles of righteousness; that is given not in consideration of any works of righteousness which we have done; but solely through faith in Christ's blood His righteousness is imputed unto us.

Of Baptism And The Lord's Supper

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer; in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, with the authority of the local church, to show our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life, and to the Lord's supper; in which the members of the church, by the sacred use of bread and the fruit of the vine (grape juice) are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ; preceded always by solemn self-examination.

Of The Perseverance of the Saints

We believe that believers (true church of Lord Jesus Christ) endure until the end; that their persevering attachment to Christ is the grand mark which distinguishes them from superficial professors that they are kept by the power of God through faith unto eternal salvation.

Of The Righteous And The Wicked

We believe that there is a radical and vast difference between the righteous and the wicked; that such only as a result of faith and trust in the saving power of Jesus Christ, and sanctified by the Spirit of God, are truly righteous in His esteem; while all who continue in unbelief, are considered to be wicked and under the curse of sin, and this distinction holds among men (and women) both in and after death, in the everlasting joy and blessings of the saved and the everlasting conscious suffering of those who have rejected the free gift of salvation.

Of Civil Government

We believe that civil government is of divine appointment; for the interests and good order of human society; that leaders are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed, except only in things opposed in the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience, and the coming Prince of the kings of the earth.

Of The Resurrection And Return Of Christ And Related Events

We believe in and accept the sacred Scriptures at their face and full value. Of the Resurrection, we believe that Christ rose bodily the third day according to the Scriptures; that He is our merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God; that this same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into Heaven - bodily, personally and visible; that the dead in Christ shall rise first, that the living saints shall be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; that the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His Father David; and that Christ shall reign a thousand years in righteousness until He hath put all enemies under His feet.
